Unable to download files (docs/Excel) from Zoom in-meeting chat on Primebook 2 Pro

Hi everyone and Primebook Team,

I have been using the Primebook 2 Pro for about 10 months now, and overall, it has been a fantastic machine. The fanless design is silent, and the battery backup is incredible, easily lasting me a couple of days on my typical workflow.

However, I have run into a persistent issue during Zoom meetings: I am unable to download files (such as Word documents, PDFs, or Excel sheets) shared via the in-meeting chat.

When a file is sent in the chat, clicking on it either fails to trigger the download or doesn’t save to local storage. Because PrimeOS handles file permissions and mobile-adapted apps differently than traditional desktop OSs, I’m not sure if this is an app permission bug, a browser/PWA limitation, or a Zoom client compatibility issue.

Could the team look into this or advise on a fix/workaround? If anyone in the community has solved this, please let me know:

  • Is there a specific storage permission that needs to be toggled for the Zoom app?
  • Does switching between the Android app version and the browser/web client resolve this for you?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi Sukesh, we tested this on our end and found that this happens only when the folder or Drive link isn’t accessible to “Anyone with the link.” Otherwise, it’s working fine. If the folder you’re downloading from is already set to “Anyone with the link” and you’re still facing the issue, please let us know.

Hey there,
Thanks for the quick reply. I am not talking about the link, I am talking about the actual .pdf or .xlsx files sent over the chat on zoom meetings. I am not able to download such files directly. Hope you got my concern

Could you please send us a video? It would help us a lot, as it’s working fine on our end. We’ll check it and assist you accordingly.

We have sent you a message, kindly please check.
