Truth about primebook

PRIMEBOOK IS NOT A LAPTOP—IT’S JUST A GLORIFIED MOBILE PHONE!
Dear Students and Parents,
Don’t be fooled by the “Laptop” look. Here is the technical reality that the company doesn’t want you to know:
A Mobile in a Plastic Shell: Primebook uses the same processor (MediaTek ARM chips) and operating system (Android-based) found in budget mobile phones. It is NOT a computer. It is just a mobile motherboard attached to a bigger screen and a cheap keyboard.
Android is NOT for Laptops: Just because it has a keyboard doesn’t make it a PC. You cannot run real PC software. It’s like using a 10-inch mobile phone where most apps don’t even open or resize correctly.
The “Cloud PC” Excuse: Why do they sell you a ‘Cloud PC’ subscription? Because they know the hardware inside is too weak to do anything on its own. They are selling you a mobile phone and then asking for monthly rent (subscription) to make it work like a PC.
No Real Power: You can’t do real coding, you can’t do professional editing, and you can’t even multitask properly. As soon as you open 4-5 tabs, this “mobile-laptop” starts lagging because it only has 4GB of mobile RAM.
Waste of Money: For the same price, you can buy a real second-hand Windows laptop that actually helps you learn engineering or professional skills. Primebook is just a toy for watching YouTube, not a tool for education.
My Message to Primebook:
Stop misleading students by calling it a “Pro Laptop.” If it’s a mobile, call it a mobile. Stop deleting my comments just because I am exposing your hardware secrets!

Hi Parag, since you’ve been an active member of our forum for a long time, we’ve always tried to address your concerns and respond to the query or the apps you’ve requested. Some of your recent posts were automatically flagged as spam by the community system, they weren’t manually deleted by us. We aim to stay as transparent as possible with our users.

Regarding the device, we selected a processor that aligns well with Primebook’s purpose, to provide smooth performance with reliable multitasking, keeping the budget in mind. It is primarily designed for students, and we continue to improve it regularly. However, expecting high end laptop features in this segment wouldn’t be a fair comparison.

About Cloud PC, it’s an additional feature meant to help you run more advanced software and make the device more flexible and capable.

Lastly, we’ve never positioned Primebook as a “pro” or high-end laptop.

Hi Parag,

After reading your comments, it looks like you have not paid any attention while buying primebook device. I do not represent primebook team in any sense. I am just a primebook user. I bought a device to see how well it performs for daily browsing (already have 3 laptops; and its a forth one). I would say, the most appealing thing I get in primebook is its battery life support. I travel a lot, and do have a premium ThinkBook, Pixelbook (old one), Chromebook plus and among all these, I get better battery performance with primebook. I do agree with u that the keyboard is comparatively of lower end, but what do we expect from a 17K device? I think, Primebook team is doing great, we all should support them.

My only advice to Primebook team is that they should make the system more open, and if possible, do make the browser more fluid so that it can be the best competitor to Chromebooks. The present version of the browser is not well optimized. In case primebook team excel to give a better default browser, then I am sure they are well prepared for the Aluminum OS from the Google, else the runway shall be shorter.

All the best to all,
G
